Brannigan Kaa

13 JUNE        Brannigan Kaa, vocalist and band leader extraordinaire, fronts this nine piece band. They’ve been playing together for the last eighteen months and have fine-tuned their groove & big band sound. Ray Tamaira– drums and vocals; Kevin Rangihura keys; Elliotte Fuimaono bass; Allen Saena guitar; Brannigan Kaa vocals.  In the horns section: Dave Conning trombone; Andrew Stewart trumpet; Jenny Bedford tenor saxophone; Paul Caddis alto saxophone.

Wellington Heads

Hard working local band Wellington Heads take to the stage at the Bristol Hotel on Thursday 6 June as part of the Wellington Jazz festival on Cuba, to play their blend of Louis Jordan inspired original jump blues and 50`s rhythm & blues ala Ray Charles. Lots of other styles too taking in Hawaiian guitars, Caribbean beats, and funky New Orleans grooves.
Featuring Neil Worboys, vocals, harmonica, guitar, banjo, Bill Wood, guitars, vocals, Geoff Keith, upright bass, vocals and also featuring the Barrett Reefers: Andrew Richardson (drums), Nils Olsen (sax), Nick van Dijk (trumpet) and Damian Forlong ( trombone).
