Billy TK Jnr has toured internationally since 1993 and has earned himself a reputation as a genuine guitar hero in NZ’s electric guitar blues scene. During his career he has toured with artists George Thorogood, Jimmy Barnes, The Neville Brothers, Ian Moss and Junior Wells and has performed in the USA, Japan, Australia, and around the Pacific.

“Blues Benediction (released through MGM Australia, and Southbound Records NZ) is in my opinion the best blues/rock guitar album ever recorded in NZ” (Mike Dinsdale NZ Music Reviewer, Nov 2012).  … everything is about timing and this album feels like it has arrived at the right location at the right time. …It’s a reflection of where I am at in my life. Our aim is to promote live blues/roots music through performance, education and marketing, and to foster emerging talent.  Jam nights are where new musicians can mix it with a great backing band and where the expected and the unexpected happen.  The thrill is in the unexpected and spontaneous nature of whatever combination of musicians steps up onto that stage. The last Thursday of the month is always celebrated in grand
style by our renowned jam night gig. All musos welcome – and a
good crowd of appreciative blues fans is always a bonus!

Another welcome return to the Bristol for Wanganui’s favourite
blues brothers – Dusty & Fred Loveridge. With a new drummer in
the band, it may have a slightly different feel to it but it’ll
still be a blues-filled affair.

Phil McLaughlin’s love of the more jazz-funk infused blues
returns tonight. He’s introduced some new material into the set –
plus some horns to add even more variety to the mix!

Always looking to bring you as wide a range of music as possible,
our local amp guru, Pete Matich, and his new surf rock band join
us tonight. Also surfing the blues highway tonight is the Red Dog
Saloon Band – cos you can never get too much of a good thing!
