Aotearoa Allstars

Aotearoa Allstars are a Wellington-based group made up of leaders in the music, arts sectors. They are from a number of award winning Kaupapa Māori Music bands with a stellar lineup of artists. Aotearoa Allstars will play a set featuring songs from their own musical careers as well as some NZ / Māori favourites. The group aims to promote te reo Māori through music and having fun with the audience.

Ngahiwi Apanui on guitar and vocals (‘Apanui’ & ‘Aotearoa’ from Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Hine, Rongomaiwāhine)
Toni Huata on vocals (singer, actor, producer from Ngāti Kahungunu, Rongowhakaata. Toni is the Director of Māori Music at SOUNZ Centre for NZ Music)
Mere Boynton on vocals (‘Aotearoa’ – singer, actor, producer from Te Aitanga a Mahaki, Ngāti Oneone, Tūhoe. Mere is the Director of Ngā Toi Māori at Tāwhiti)
Lisa Tomlins on vocals (The Pink Floyd Experience, Lord Echo, Rhombus, and Fly My Pretties) from Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Toa)
Jason McMahon on drums (‘Haakiwa’, ‘In The Whare’ and various cover bands from Ngāpuhi),
Elliot Fuimaono on bass (Southside of Bombay, Aotearoa, Taste of Bounty from Ngāpuhi and Samoa)
Jed Lesa on keyboards (House of Shem from Tokelau and Samoa)
Kali Barton on trombone (‘Southside of Bombay’, ‘Duke Wgtn Jazz Octet’, ‘The Julie Lamb Outfit’, ‘Capital City Big Band’, ‘Wellington Chamber Orchestra’, ‘Balkanistas’ & ‘Blue River Baby’. Kali was born in Sydney and has Scottish, Irish, English ancestry),
Nick Murphy on trumpet, (NZ School of Music, Wellington)
Elizabeth Hocking on saxophone, (NZ Royal Family and musician extraordinaire from Wellington).
