Bullfrog Rata and the Cuba Express

With a change to the previously advertised band, we are delighted to bring back one of our favourites, Bullfrog Rata.

Bullfrog Rata’s musical career has been wide and varied. From busking on the streets in towns like Wairoa and Waipukerau, to flying on jets to play for US billionaires.

He has been lucky enough to open for and share the stage with many of his idols including Midge Marsden and The Chills, and with international blues acts like Taj Mahal, Watermelon Slim as well as mega stars Tina Turner, Charlie Pride, and Jethro Tull.

Bullfrog will be presenting some “Songs of Fate and Misadventure,” a collection of his own tunes from his fabulous album in 2021, Chasing the Gazelle, and songs from his upcoming album, “Botanical Road.”

There will be blues and roots tunes scattered throughout the evening too.

He will be accompanied by some of the business jazz musicians in Wellington:

Abe Baillie on drums

Patrick Bleakley on bass

Geoff Culverwell on trumpet.
