Louis Thompson-Munn followed by the Aleister James Incident
Friday, 31 July 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Starting at 6.30 is some rollicking New Orleans and honkey tonk (piano needs a tune) vibe from the ever entertaining Louis Thompson-Munn over your din dins … followed by this fabulousness:
At 8.30, led by the 107th best guitarist to come out of Stokes Valley, Aleister James Campbell, the origins of the Hutt River Ritual are murkier than the river itself.
Simply put, it’s a party-time (excellent!) version of the Aleister James Incident, suped-up like a boy racer’s crappy import with one of the capital’s most mischievous horn sections.
‘This band is filthier than the residue on the KFC deep-fryer after Friday Night!’ – Dion Fortune (Occultist 1890-1946)
As the band irreverently delivers a spicy mix of blues classics, originals, and 80’s pop hits (wtf?), you’ll be either hitting the D-floor harder than Mike Tyson with a mouth full of ear, or running for the door faster than Ben Johnson on steroids*, depending of your taste (or lack thereof).
Aleister James Campbell (Guitar, Vocals)
Phoebe Johnson (Bass Vocals)
Hikurangi Scaverien-Kaa (Drums)
Mike Taylor (Trumpet), and
Jake Saxendale (Baxohone)*
*See what I did there…
